Mosquitoes become infected after feeding on infected birds, and can then transmit the virus to horses. Vaccination remains the most effective way to help protect horses against WNV. West Nile Innovator is for the vaccination of healthy horses and foals 10 months of age or older as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by West Nile Virus. This equine vaccine contains a killed virus and does not require reconstitution prior to administration. West Nile Innovator is adjuvanted with Meta Stim, which reduces the potential for injection site reactions. In addition, this high quality vaccine may be administered to pregnant mares.
